Robbie Poore @ Grounded Earth Collective
Robbie Poore is known for his upcycled assemblage pieces. His style is always evolving depending on what materials he chooses. These materials include (but are not limited to): random electronics, Christmas lights, keys, bottle caps, gift cards, broken toys, etc. He playfully connects objects together often with color. Robbie also creates wildly imaginative drawings using markers.
He seldom pencils in his ideas, using the markers to readjust as he goes. "If I mess up, I can just turn it into something else; like a canoe, that once turned into a monkey." Themes Robbie has portrayed in his assemblage pieces and drawings include pop culture references, music, faces, and cats.
Robbie is originally from Ashland, Kentucky and now lives in Huntington, West Virginia. He participated in the 2015 and 2019 CHH Artisan’s Express. His train is on display at the Moses dealership and the tugboat is on display on 9th Street in Huntington. Other works can be viewed at local establishments such as the CAMC, Cicada Books, Wildflower Gift Gallery, Grounded Earth Collective, and the Huntington Ale House.
